Why BabywearingHelp.org? Our Story
Babywearing Help has been a long time in the making. Inspired by a group of babywering educators and friends, the idea came about several years ago to start a directory to help parents and caregivers locate in person, local help.
In person help when it comes to baby carriers is invaluable. Because all baby carrier styles have pros and cons, and fit various bodies and babies differently, having the opportunity to try baby carriers on is the best way to find the right one for you and your unique situation. Often compared to jeans, particularly buckle or soft structured carriers, there is no such thing as a “best” carrier, just the best one for you.
Babywearing has been a passion for founder Laura Brown for more than a decade. She has worked in all facets of the baby carrier industry, having started one of the largest babywearing groups in the United States, BabywearingLA. As a private consultant, she has worked with many high profile clients, consulted for TV + Movies, taught and mentored other educators and birth/postpartum professionals, as well as worked with the baby carrier industry’s largest carrier makers. She is also a full spectrum Doula, Certified Lactation Educator and Child Passenger Safety Technician or CPST.
